Success Requires Effort
Indeed, it may sound as a logical thing to think about, but there are many people out there that are just trying to figure out ways to be successful without putting any effort.
Actually, trying to get a shortcut might be the biggest mistake to be successful as i see things. Why is this?
Successful people who get there by chance, wont know how to get there again if they go back to their previous state, which they will. On the other hand, successful people who know how they got to the place where they want, will always be able to know the way, because they had to walk it.
Success is a state of mind. For most people it means being loved or having financial security. In both cases, people who gamble are not in the right path. You might be lucky and find it by chance, but as I said before, there are high probabilities that that wont stay forever.
From my point of view, you gotta first know what you want. Always. Maybe not know it 100%, but at least know what you want at 80%. Have expectations and know what you look for, cos if you dont make yourself a finish line, you’ll never know when you get there or if you even got close.
The ultimate finish line is, for most of the people, to be happy. As simple as that. As complicated as it sounds. Cos, dont take me wrong, but happiness is one of the hardest thing to get, and even more to keep.
Happiness and Success are one of a kind. My idea of happiness or success is different from yours or anyone else. The way to reach it is therefore different from any other. I can follow other paths. Other ways unknown people to me have already walked, but the end of that road will be the happiness of that person.
If i want to be fully happy, there is no other way that making my own. I can start walking another way, there is no prob with that, but sooner or later, i will realize i’ll have to make and walk my way.
The best thing about happiness and it being so different from one another, is that YOU decide what happiness means to you. You decide what being successful is. Nobody can tell you what is it. Nobody can fully feel how you feel. Having that in mind, you are in control of your wishes, your thoughts and yourself.
What is that you want? What makes you happy? What is success?
First figure it out, then do what you have to. You know it wont be easy some times. When you find yourself in doubt, remember: SUCCESS REQUIRES EFFORT.
Are you willing to pay the price? Is the effort worth your happiness? If not, then that might not be the right one, or you’re really not looking hard enough for your happiness
MOVIES MOVIES MOVIES
Last weekend was longer than usual, and i pretty much spent it watching movies. I dont know why, but somehow, I ended up watching a bunch of very good movies.
The last ones i’ve seen are:
Memoirs of a Geisha:A girl who is sold out by her parents going through life in Japan before and after WWII
Good night and Good luck: TV power during Communist huntdown in USA
Jarhead: About the recent Irak war (Desert Storm) and the petrol issue for western countries
Lord of War: Money-making through gun trading with wars around the globe
Syriana: Nowadays Politics in Mid-East, power and economic interests
Hotel Rwanda: About the masacre between Hutus and Tutsis in 1994
The Constant Gardner: Pharmaceutic companies’ profit testing new medicins in African countries
I recommend ANY of the above mentioned. If you have the chance to watch one, dont hesitate and DO IT.
Good looking week ahead
The week couldnt have started better.
Online presentations are going well and this week, we have 2 days off in Spain.
For those of you who are in the Netherlands, today is Sinterklaas! I hope Him and Piet bring you loads of presents and chocolate. As for me, im going to celebrate it the polish way. Since i’m living with a polish friend, i’m getting to know a lot of polish traditions. Weird someway, but very interesting.
Work is going good too and my “sleeping problem”, well, i’m just struggling and doing my best
I’ve recently heard a quote that i found very true:
ITS NOT THE BLOWING OF THE WIND,
ITS THE SET OF YOUR SAIL THAT
DETERMINES YOUR DESTINY
We are all in our little boat sailing through life. How we take things that happen in our life will determine somehow how our boat will go. You’re in control of the sail of your boat. You take your decissions in your life and therefore you are responsible of your own destiny and your future.
Take your chances, think about the odds and the risks, but not too much, cos otherwise you’ll never make up your mind and will stay still in the middle of the ocean. Set your goals and go for them.
Dont worry too much, cos worrying wont change anything around you. Dont take things too seriously, cos we’ll all end up the same way, but its how we live life what’s more important. Be true to yourself and never let others decide for you. Live your life and be happy about it. And if you’re not, then CHANGE IT. You have control of the sail. You have control of your self.
If there is something i’ve learnt this year is this: Decissions determine destiny. If you wanna know where you’re heading, take a look at your actions rather to your thoughts. Actions will make changes. An action will make you change, just a thought, wont.
